The US Ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson has revealed that more charter planes will be arriving in Ghana in the next few weeks with Ghanaians deported from the United States of America.
His comment comes at the back of some 80 illegal Ghanaian immigrants who were deported by the government.
They arrived at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra on Wednesday, 14 June, 2017 and most of them were handcuffed.
The deportees most of whom had no records on them, are the second batch of immigrants.
They were screened upon arrival by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and the Ghana Police Service.
So far there have been about 100 Ghanaians who have been deported in 2017
The Donald Trump administration has been embarking on massive deportation of other nationals illegally living in the US and some 7000 Ghanaians will be affected.
In 2016, the United States deported 108 Ghanaian immigrants for reasons including drug-related offences, staying illegally, overstaying their permits and other crimes.
